The world is gradually getting used to the fact that mental disorders- this is serious, and even in a mild form they need correction. Treatment in this case may consist not only in conversations with a psychotherapist or taking medication. The human brain also responds to the impact of art - art therapy and bibliotherapy are based on this. We tried to understand how treatment with books and works of art works, and discussed the impact of art on mental health with psychotherapist Zoya Bogdanova.

Treatment with creativity

The influence of art on the emotional state of a person was probably noticed even by cavemen who began to depict mammoths on the walls. A lot has been written and told about how painting or music can change life (and not only for an artist or performer), and it is not surprising that they try to use art on purpose to obtain the desired effect. Art therapy is used by psychotherapists for various diseases, and psychologists. There are even associations of art therapists.

Art therapy has almost no evidence-based evidence of effectiveness, also due to the complexity of its study: it is difficult to conduct a comparative study of treatments based on an individual approach. Nevertheless, observational data and their analysis show that it works. When a person is engaged in creativity, he plunges into the process and remains alone with himself, focuses on the present, learns to express himself and gets acquainted with his inner world, splashes out emotions and controls them. Art therapy covers many areas and is much broader and more interesting than using coloring books to relieve stress.

Psychotherapist Zoya Bogdanova says that art therapy includes many methods related to creativity. The expression of feelings and emotions through drawing or painting is isotherapy, and the technique can be anything from classical to finger painting and splashing paint. This type of art therapy is the only one that has no contraindications, and it is used in centers for helping victims of violence or patients with cancer.

Hidden Messages

In isotherapy they do not paint pictures as such, the main goal is to express their state of mind: emotions, feelings and sensations. It does not require the idea of a canvas or the talent of an artist; but an important role is played, for example, by the color of the paints used. The message that a professional can decipher is important. Bogdanova notes that if a person does not understand what to draw and how it can help, then the problem may lie in the specialist - he must follow the therapy methodology and be sure to prepare patients. The therapist is a guide of a person to a state when he is ready to transfer his inner world on a sheet of paper.

Art therapy is not as harmless as it seems, and in some cases can exacerbate the situation. There are restrictions, for example, for people who have suffered a major stroke, for patients in a difficult rehabilitation period, children with cerebral palsy and people with bipolar disorder. For these groups of patients, phototherapy is quite effective - a method that allows you to look at yourself from the outside. A person, together with a specialist, analyzes the stages of his life through pictures, analyzing the details, how the emotional state was expressed at a certain point in time, what kind of people surrounded him, their postures and relationships.

TO creative types Art therapy also includes, for example, clay therapy. For modeling, not only ordinary, but also polymer clay or plasticine can be used, and the resulting “craft” reflects the emotional state of a person. There is sand therapy, drama therapy, puppet therapy, film therapy - and this list continues to grow.

The book is the best therapist

Librariany is also a way to deal with internal problems only with the help of books. People who love to read have probably noticed the special influence of the text on consciousness and even behavior. Some works are so powerful that they change a person's life - and this is not only about religious or motivational books that contain direct calls to action or instructions. It’s just that sometimes, after reading, we cannot get a new idea out of our heads, or our eyes “open” and we look at things from an unexpected angle.

Bibliotherapy is not as researched as other methods, it certainly does not have the same evidence base as CBT or the powerful system and school of psychoanalysis. But the benefits of a large text for mental health were noticed a long time ago: Pharaoh Ramses II called the library a “temple of healing the soul,” and Sigmund Freud, who turned the idea of the treatment of mental disorders, included working with books in his method, and the term itself appeared in 1916 year.

Bibliotherapy is based on the fact that after talking with the patient, the therapist selects books that can positively affect the condition: they will show how to cope with the problem, nourish the necessary emotions, or allow you to disconnect from current difficulties. As a rule, the reading is followed by analysis and discussion - sometimes in groups. The choice of books is limited only by the characteristics of the personality and diagnosis of the patient. For example, Yanagihara's A Little Life at the height of his depression might be too hard a choice.

sciencepop
or hoodlit

Popular science literature does not always cheer you up and drowns out the alarm, but it can help you figure out what is happening - like, for example, the publication “Go crazy! A Guide to Mental Disorders for a Resident of a Big City by Daria Varlamova and Anton Zaitsev. But most often, to restore the psyche, they still use fiction. When patients read about heroes, especially those who find themselves in situations similar to ours, they look at problems from a different angle. Empathy for characters is a way to vent emotions, similar to the effect of isotherapy. For those who just lack emotions (for example, these are people in a state of depression, in which the world seems gray), the text can become a source of “lost” feelings.

In Russia and earlier in the USSR, bibliotherapy was based, of course, on the classics, which is no longer relevant today. Not only can many books from the school curriculum in themselves lead to neurosis, they also do not reflect modern realities. Perhaps that is why we know little about bibliotherapy, although it is a good way to cope with anxiety and depression, working as an addition to the main treatment regimen. In any case, it is worth choosing books with a specialist who will take into account the condition and characteristics of the patient.

A book to help you deal with internal conflicts and disorders need not be particularly deep, problematic, or even clever. Popularity romance novels with an unpretentious plot lies precisely in this deliberate simplicity with an indispensable, in spite of everything, happy ending. Daria Dontsova, whose detectives did not scold, seems to be only lazy, knowingly calls the books "pills for depression." The writer, who has experienced a serious illness, actually talks about the therapeutic effects of creativity (albeit someone else's). Bibliotherapy is also used for children, for whom reading and detailed analysis of fairy tales helps to understand their emotions.

How to choose an art therapist

Treatment with art and literature is one of the most inexpensive, yet effective ways to cope with some manifestations of disorders, especially mood disorders. Creativity therapy helps to understand emotions, bibliotherapy teaches you to look at what is happening from the outside or distract from heavy thoughts. The main thing is that both types can always be used together with the main treatment, both pharmacological and "conversational".

Zoya Bogdanova advises to be careful when choosing a psychotherapist, even if you want to try such a seemingly simple method as art therapy or reading books. It is better to choose certified specialists who have received a profession in accredited institutions - this may be a university or state advanced training courses. They provide basic knowledge of psychological counseling and art therapy in particular. As with other types of therapy, you need to look at customer reviews, analyze the doctor's practice, and, if possible, look for recommendations. It happens that a young therapist, despite little experience, has the knowledge and desire to work with modern methods - and according to Bogdanova, psychotherapists of the "old school" do not deal with the same phototherapy.

Shymkent artist Bakhytbek Talkambaev claims that his paintings can heal a person. This is reported by the correspondent.

In the Shymkent gallery, unusual canvases are hung on the walls. These intricate patterns are surprising at first glance. Technique, and images are not like any other art style. All this seems to be something cosmic. “You are not far from the truth,” says Bakhytbek Talkambaev. “The philosophy is that when a person’s hands work, the path to the Galaxy opens through the palms, contact with the Almighty opens. When I draw, I draw what God indicates to me.”

Unusual energy emanates from the paintings, says the artist. Those who come to the exhibition must feel it. “People who are pure in soul will feel warm, and people who are impure will be frightened. True, you can get rid of all the dirt. To do this, you need to pick up a brush and believe. Faith will come to the soul,” the artist argues.

Bakhytbek Talkambaev realized that he had to treat people back in 1968. He says that he then read the Koran and his "mysterious meaning" was revealed to him. True, he does not consider himself a doctor and healer. He says that his art therapy teaches people to help themselves. "Art therapy will not cure a person from specific diseases. It helps him discover new knowledge in himself, guide him on the right path. After that, the person will go to recovery," says the artist.

People from different cities of Kazakhstan come to the native of the picturesque gorge Burgulyuk for advice, for faith. Many become his students. The artist literally saved the life of 17-year-old college student Yerlan. Because of problems at home and with peers, the guy wanted to lay hands on himself. Talkambaev's paintings "pulled" the guy out of the noose. Moreover, now the young man also draws pictures in the same technique as his teacher. Moreover, Yerlan also explains to his younger comrades how love for drawing begins.

Bakhytbek Talkambaev himself draws inspiration from nature. Tries to come home. He says that here the mountains, the sky, the herbs help him to be closer to the Creator. The river washes away fatigue and accumulated negative energy, so bathing in an icy mountain river is just as important for him as air.

All of Talkambaev's paintings are a kind of connection with the cosmos. His favorite circles are present in each canvas as a symbol of eternity, as well as the unity of consciousness and feelings. Each painting has its own mission, its own energy, says the artist. The canvas is designed to clear the space around a person, changes energy and helps a person in life. Bright, extraordinary canvases are ordered from the artist by businessmen, professors, deputies, and officials. Talkambaev can paint a picture for a certain person. And he can teach anyone to heal themselves with the help of drawing. For this, says Bakhtybek, you need a little bit - checkered notebooks and gel pens. Gel - because the word is also associated with cosmic energy. True, there are nuances in such art therapy, the artist is ready to tell everyone who comes to his master class about them.

Contemplate the beautiful

Already at the dawn of human civilization, priests, and then doctors, philosophers, teachers used different types arts and creativity for the treatment of soul and body. They thought about the secrets of the influence of painting, sculpture, theater, etc., trying to determine their role, both in restoring body functions and in shaping spiritual world. Yes, in Ancient Greece art considered as an effective means of influencing a person and his health. Sculptures were exhibited in the galleries, personifying the noble qualities of a person, mercy and kindness. It was believed that contemplating the beautiful statues, a person absorbs all the best that they reflect. The same applies to the paintings of great artists.

What are healing paintings and drawings?

At present, it is well known that a person receives more than 90% of information about the world around him through vision. From what information enters his brain, including what colors a person sees, his mood, behavior, reaction to the world around him, and physiological processes in the body depend.

So, the Australian doctor David Evans, as an experiment, recommended that a group of his patients enjoy their favorite music or look at albums with reproductions of paintings for several hours a day. famous artists radiating positive, healing energy. After some time, he discovered that patients who regularly received "art-dose" required fewer analgesics than others.

Healing drawings are drawings that radiate powerful healing energy, help to overcome illnesses and mental traumas through their contemplation. In the process of treatment with drawings, thoughts, feelings, a person’s attitude towards himself and people change.

To believe or not to believe?

The success of any treatment consists, first of all, in the patient's faith in his healing. Although when contemplating pictures and drawings, many healing processes are launched in the body as if "automatically", one must still believe and hope for a cure. Scientists have long proved that the psychological factor plays a greater role in the cure of the disease than the physiological one.

How do healing drawings appear?

Perhaps, the process of the appearance of medical drawings cannot be described in words, and yet I will try.

Self-development and helping those who are in trouble - that's what is the meaning of my life. Self-development for me means constant movement forward, knowledge of what is not yet known. Every day I learn, and every time something new opens up to me. This process, as I understand it, has no end, at least as long as I live.

How do healing drawings arise and appear? First, images or the “picture” itself appear, and most often they appear spontaneously for me: I can see them, as it were, before my eyes, for example, in the process of meditation, or when I’m driving in transport, as if thinking about something (actually - nothing), sometimes before going to bed, or after reading a book on spiritual practices. In some cases, I purposefully tune in to see the necessary images, symbols or a “picture”, but always, in all cases, I read a prayer before that and ask the higher powers for support. And I begin to see ..., there is a feeling that I find myself in a stream of blindingly bright white light. And then there is an inexplicable strong desire to transfer what he saw to paper.

I want to give an example. Those who are familiar with the books of OSHO (Shri Rajneesh) know that it is impossible to just read his books, you want to study them, but, in my opinion, they should be studied, and nothing else. This happens to me, I hope, and to many, many people.

When I studied according to his wonderful "Orange Book", my vision of the blue color intensified. I noticed that I began to look at the sky more often than usual (as the great Master advised), one of his meditations is called: “Just look at the sky!”. I watched ... and soon the drawings "came", two of which are given below. I called them "Heavenly flowers of peace and quiet."

I would like to accompany these drawings with words from OSHO meditation: "Meditate on the sky, and when you have time, just lie down on the ground and look at the sky. Let this be your contemplation. If you want to pray, pray to the sky. If you want to meditate, meditate on the sky, sometimes with your eyes open, sometimes with your eyes closed, because there is a sky inside - just as big as outside. you feel deeply in tune with her. A great silence will descend on you when you meditate on the color blue. Blue is one of the most spiritual colors, as it is the color of silence, constancy. It is the color of peace, rest, relaxation. Therefore, when you are really relaxed, suddenly there is a blue glow inside you. And if you can feel the blue glow, you immediately feel relaxed. It works both ways."

Heavenly flowers of peace and quiet

Therapeutic effect: the mind calms down, the human biofield strengthens, blocks and tension leave the body. It has a positive effect on the sixth chakra (Ajna), promotes the development of imagination, intellect, spirituality.

Therapeutic effect: normalizes the work of the endocrine glands, promotes the removal of mucus from the nasopharynx, provides control over the emotional state, brings calm and tranquility.

Working with a drawing

Important! You should always work with only one drawing, depending on what problems you want to solve for yourself.

Next, treat the drawing with love. Know that the drawing has a favorable energy of fullness, which, when a person comes into contact with it, easily gives away. Tune in to positive health. Forget the bad. Mentally ask the Creator for health for yourself and your loved ones. Take a comfortable position, relax. Only after that, carefully begin to consider the drawing, which should be hung in front of you on the wall or placed on the table at a distance of no more than 1 meter. In the process of viewing, you may feel the movement of energies, warmth or coolness, slight dizziness, you may have a desire to make some body movements, inhale or exhale. It means there is a cure. When you feel attuned to the drawing, this will indicate the greatest effect of its impact.

You should look at the drawing for 5-10 minutes every day. Determine the duration of the course of treatment for yourself. For example, 21 or 40 days.

It is good if you read prayers or health mantras throughout the whole time.

Options
To be more precise, this direction is not so new, and has been found since time immemorial. Here, of course, it should be noted that under the term "Treatment with pictures" there are many types and directions, and their differences are very large. Treatment with pictures can be divided into two large groups.

First option - a person himself draws pictures or magical signs. At the same time, healing occurs either in the process of drawing, or after, when a person looks at it for a long time and even listens to mantras (adding sound therapy) These types of treatment include art therapy and kunta yoga.

Art therapy.
Art therapy is a method of treatment through artistic creativity. The attraction of this method is modern man in that art therapy mainly uses non-verbal ways of self-expression and communication.

Art therapy is one of the softest and at the same time deep methods in the arsenal of psychologists and psychotherapists. Drawing, sculpting, or writing about your problem or mood, you seem to receive a coded message from yourself, from your own subconscious.

The method of art therapy can be attributed to the most ancient and natural forms of correction of emotional states, which many people use on their own - to relieve the accumulated mental stress, calm down, concentrate.

Kunta Yoga
Yoga magical symbols. Each symbol generates certain astral vibrations, therefore, by meditating on the symbols in a certain order, one can enter into resonance with Shakti, cosmic energy. In other words, Kunta Yoga is a purposeful restructuring of the subconscious through mental exercises.

Second option- when the picture is drawn by other people. Energy is already embedded in this picture - and a person simply absorbs its vibrations.

In this case, we can also consider several directions.

One of them is when the pictures are drawn different artists and people just look at them. Get an internal comfortable state.

Wikipedia tells us that
“The treatment of the sick in the monastery began precisely at the altar: either St. Anthony would perform a miracle and help the sick, or the altar would serve as spiritual consolation to the unfortunate. In the Middle Ages, meditative paintings, to which the Isenheim altar belongs, were considered “quasi-medicine” (“quasi medicina”), people believed in their healing properties: identifying themselves with the images in the picture, the patient was filled with spiritual strength, which helped him cope with bodily suffering."

Treatment with art (note dated 18.09.2008)

A group of researchers led by Professor Marina de Tommaso from the University of Bari, Italy, found that beautiful pictures may reduce pain, the Daily Telegraph writes today, citing New Scientist. Scientists hope that the new results will convince hospitals and hospitals to care more about decorating the rooms in which the sick are.

During the study, a group of people, consisting of both their men and their women, were asked to look at 300 paintings by artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli, and to select from them 20 paintings that they found the most beautiful and the ugliest. At the next stage, the subjects were shown these pictures or nothing, leaving a large black wall for pictures free, and at the same time they hit the participants with a short laser pulse comparable in strength to touching a hot frying pan.

It was found that when people watch pictures they like, the pain feels three times less intense than when they are forced to look at ugly pictures or a black wall, reports vokrugsveta. Ru.

Another direction is when the picture is drawn not just like that, but specifically for something. Here, a striking example is the praying icons (this is the same drawing) that fulfill wishes. Paintings from the Liken Magic ™ series also belong to the same direction. We will dwell on them in more detail, since this is a completely new direction in alternative medicine.

"Like Magic"™

Series of paintings "Liken Magic" ™ first appeared in June 2008. They are created by two artists with the gift of clairvoyance. One of them can communicate directly with the angels (patrons) of another person. The difference between the paintings of this series from others works of art lies in the fact that the paintings are created individually for the person - the client.

They carry only the energy and vibrations he needs. They are designed for a wide audience, because they benefit people in various situations: from the treatment of diseases (oncology, infertility, alcoholism, etc.) to finding a partner and success in business.

The picture is always individual, because there are no two absolutely identical people, and even the same person changes over time. Several patients may have the same symptoms, but the causes of the diseases in each individual case will be different. And, conversely, with completely dissimilar symptoms, the cause of the disease can be one

These paintings can only be photographed a few months after they were created. There is a term "creation" - that's right. Drawing is one part of the process. The other part is the impregnation of the drawing with the energy necessary for the vibrations of a particular person. The artist, in fact, is only a conductor of that energy and power that is transferred to the picture by the Higher Forces.

An individual picture from the “Liken Magic” ™ series treats the whole person, and therefore, not only the symptoms to which the treatment was directly directed, but also other ailments often disappear during the treatment. Many clients claim that after receiving the painting, they become calmer, more balanced and even happier.

In addition, they notice an increase in immunity, a surge of vitality, clarity of thought and an improvement in their general condition.

Many diseases can be fixed on the subtle plane even before the appearance of any physical symptoms. For example, on an energetic level, cancer can be detected several years before its physical manifestation.

The speed of recovery depends on many factors. One of them is the attitude of the patient. Some people are willing to take responsibility for treatment, while others are not. In addition, much depends on whether the disease is acute or chronic, on the state of the immune system, on the age of the patient and on his immediate environment.

Usually, a person's attitude plays a decisive role in the treatment, much more than the severity and duration of the disease itself.

Back to Liken Magic™. If we imagine the picture as a vessel with energy (moreover, different people have different colors) - then the energy from a self-replenishing vessel is transferred to a person. As it turned out, the picture also turns off periodically - this is necessary so that a person gradually gets used to new sensations, to new vibrations.

I would like to note that most likely, the energy is directed not only to the treatment of the disease itself (that is, those symptoms that are visible), but also to the cause of the disease. And the cause of any disease (in the understanding of the authors) are wrong thoughts.

This means that in the process of treatment with a picture, thoughts, sensations, a person’s attitude to himself, to the world, to people change. There is a big (huge) internal work on oneself.

If we take the physical, chemical and biological laws, then at first the work is carried out at the internal level (at the level of changing DNA, putting chromosomes, gene, etc. in order). And only then it manifests itself on the physical plane.

To believe or not to believe?
To think about this issue, I would like to give a short article and my thoughts on this matter. They will be a little emotional. People have always been wary of the new, but this did not prevent the new from taking its place under the sun. Any thought and action has the right to exist.

An article from the magazine "I Love" (for 2007 or 2008?):

"Dose of Negativity"
Scientists from Moscow, under the guidance of P. Garyaev, candidate of biological sciences, created a device that simulated the effect of curses. To do this, the researchers took the seeds of the Arabidopsis plant. The results of the experiments horrified the scientists. The verbal processing of Arabidopsis was similar to irradiation of 40,000 roentgens.

From such a shock "dose" the DNA chains broke, and the chromosomes crumbled, and the genes mixed up. Most of the seeds died, and the genetic apparatus of the survivors began to develop unnatural programs - monstrous mutations began, which doomed the plants to serious illnesses and premature death.

Surprisingly, the results of the experiment did not depend on the volume of spoken words. The effect was caused not by the power of the sound, but by the meaning of what was said - a sharply negative attitude towards the plant. Draw your own conclusions...

My conclusion (and thoughts about the pictures):
If we believe (and this is scientifically proven) that the negative, expressed in simple terms, destroys DNA, scatters chromosomes and mixes genes, then a natural question arises. Why can't we believe that a beam of good positive energy does the opposite? Heals DNA, improves it in the right way, connects misplaced chromosomes, and puts genes in the right place.

Why? Because you believe in the bad more than the good. Because the negative force is stronger and it takes several times more positive thoughts to neutralize it.

What does a painting from the Liken Magic ™ series created by unusual people? She is that charger, perpetual motion machine, a source that sends good positive energy and the vibrations that this particular person needs. As their authors say: “It is up to scientists to prove and verify how paintings work (act). Our job is to create them. And rejoice that they just work!

A portrait that brings happiness

Article from the newspaper "Kuban news"

"The world is divided into material and mysterious. We already know a little about the material world, nothing about the mysterious. Why does something bring bad luck, and something else - happiness? What is the power of amulets and talismans? Why do people get sick in the same house , die young under mysterious circumstances, and in another house the inhabitants are lucky, they are healthy and joyful, they are lucky, winning the lottery?

Forces that we do not understand, we call supernatural. They have been known since the existence of mankind. The reproduction of the portrait that we present to you today has its own unusual story. After this portrait was published in the American weekly, a wave of letters poured into the editorial office. The first is full of indignation: "What kind of deceit is this? Do you think we are fools?" The second wave of correspondence, which flooded the editorial office six weeks later, continues to this day - people warmly thank for the gift, admit that much in their lives has changed for the better , ever since they placed a reproduction of the portrait in their home. Suddenly recovered, improved financial situation. Someone received the desired news, promoted. Someone loved...

We also decided to place the "Image of Happiness". Check it out, see for yourself. And write to us.

This portrait is not a special work of art. It belongs to the 19th century, it depicts a gypsy girl with a penetrating look of large black eyes. It has only one extraordinary property: it brings happiness.

The Carbone family of Chicago has owned this portrait for three generations. Family tradition connects with him all life's successes. And here's the fact: each member of the Carbone family, after communicating with the portrait, achieves success - wins, wins, achieves what he wanted.

This applies not only to our family, says 81-year-old Mario Carbone. We gave friends a reproduction of this image and the effects were amazing. The terminally ill suddenly became healthy, the poor were successful, the domestic hell turned into a paradise.

Mario's father, Luigi Carbone, bought this portrait in 1897 in Italy as a gift to his wife. Soon after that, their fate changed dramatically - Luigi unexpectedly succeeded in a trade deal that brought losses to others, married life, which had not been very successful before, suddenly recovered for the better, Ms. Carbone, who suffered from infertility, became pregnant, to the surprise of doctors and gave birth twins.

The connection of success in life with the portrait of a gypsy was discovered by accident. During the repair of the house, the canvas was transferred to the barn, and suddenly the family began to be haunted by failures - the children fell ill, a fire broke out in the house, and the business brought unforeseen losses.

The father was broken, recalls Mario Carbone. - And so he, suddenly illuminated, rushed to the barn, found the portrait and hung it in its original place. Failures vanished!

When Mario was to emigrate to America in 1938, his father ordered a copy of the portrait and presented it to his son.

Since then, there has not been a single day that I have not been successful, says Mario. - I bless my fate.

Following the American weekly, other publications printed a portrait beautiful gypsy. No guarantees or promises. And readers once again confirmed the power of this amazing portrait.

And all the publishing houses that printed this portrait became one of the most successful newspapers in America, and in the whole world, newspapers, for example, one of these newspapers was called the Daily News, now it is the largest, richest corporation known today.

This portrait enhances your ability to bring good luck if you send it as much as possible to your friends and loved ones.
