As of April 4, 13,196 veterans and persons equivalent to them live in Kazan. There are only 946 people left who participated in and disabled the war. On the eve of the holiday, 4,131 war veterans and the widows of the participants will be helped with food. In Kazan, the cost of a food package will be more than 4,000 rubles. They are organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The health of veterans is remembered not only on the eve of May 9th. On April 20, Kazan polyclinics completed their annual comprehensive medical examination.
