GREETINGS, DEAR READER!

Here is a book with an unusual title: “BURN!” I’ll tell you what lies behind these three letters a little later, but now, as befits a meeting, let me introduce myself and tell you a little about myself.

WHO IS DMITRY YURTAEV?

Anthropometry: “Legs, wings... The main thing is the tail!”

Hobbies: painting, photography, music, cinema.

Answer to the question “How are you?”: Let’s get busy!

Favorite book: “The Master and Margarita” by M. A. Bulgakov.

In life: Matroskin the Cat.

I was born in Poland in 1978. Like most Soviet boys and girls, he got up from all fours and went to kindergarten, then to school, and college. He spent his preschool years in Leningrad and his school years in Minsk. Then he graduated from two universities with majors in economics and technology. But my creative potential haunted me and led me to become a member of various literary unions and associations. I live and create in Belarus and Russia.

ABOUT THE HOMELAND AND COSMOPOLITISM

Poland, Belarus and Russia are one big Motherland for me. St. Petersburg is the first city to which my soul has grown attached. Immediately and without much effort. There is something about him that attracts you and doesn’t let go.

The homeland, in my opinion, is not a country, but a place where you feel good. Here and now. Tell me, cosmopolitan views? There are Paris, New York, Vienna and thousands of other cities where I would like to visit. I feel bad among state borders, protected areas, marked reservations. I feel good on planet Earth. And in a small house on the very bank of the river, in the waters of which distant stars are reflected at night. While distant...

By the way, those who say that birch is only a Russian tree are blatantly deceiving! In Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany there is also birch. “According to rumors,” it even grows in Canada! So maybe the borders of countries are a convention invented to divide the Motherland?

ABOUT CHILDHOOD

I remember my childhood years in Poland as a room with stove heating and a large attic, at the entrance to which, on the wall, hung a huge bear skin. Every time I passed by, I touched it with my hand, and, as it seemed to me then, I was touching something mysterious and magical. The first children's books that I looked at and memorized; the first tricycle that I, like a real racer, rode around the house; first carousel and swing; first bruises and bumps; the first hand-painted wooden soldiers, which I discovered with admiration behind the glass of a store, for which I asked my mother to go to the store again and again “just to look at them” - all this is Poland.

By the way, in Poland for the first time I recited a poem by heart, delighting my mom and dad. You'll never guess which one! “Savos the Prankster” by Yakub Kolas! Imagine, a man is three years old, and with expression and expression on his face he talks day and night about Savos! Those who know what the poem is about will understand why the little rogue liked it so much. I still have this precious book.

ABOUT POEMS

The first rhymed lines were written by me in Minsk when I was 10 years old after reading Yesenin’s “Birch”. I argued with myself, can I write something like that? The creative impulse was enough for three whole columns. “Masterpiece” was warmly received not only by the “poet’s” relatives and friends, but also found its admirers among classmates and teachers.

Since then, I have been sincerely surprised by the fact that some people, in principle, are not capable of writing poetry, and for some, like Dunno, the stick-herring rhyme is taken for granted.

Later, school essays on a free theme became just a relaxation for me. The comrades filled the notebook with a volume of 30 lines determined by the teacher in a few hours or even days with many words of prose, while making a huge pile of mistakes. I, sensibly reasoning that the fewer words in a line, the less time spent, handwritten labor and, accordingly, fewer errors, I wrote poems with a minimum number of syllables in a line. You won't find fault. Should each line of poetry begin with a red line? Must! 30 lines? thirty! And the fact that he revealed the topic with a hundred times fewer letters - that’s Poetry!

IS IT EASY TO LIVE WITH LEGS, WINGS AND A TAIL?

Wings are an opportunity to create. And the tail is what prevents you from falling in this life. Achievements and failures, love and disappointment. In a word - life experience. Is it easy to live with such wings and a tail?

In Roman Zlotnikov’s book “2012. Transition point” one of the episodes characterizes our reality very well. If you give people everything they want and deprive them of all worries and worries, then the person will cease to exist. There is nothing to do, no need to rush anywhere. Everything is here and now, just reach out and press the button. Lie on a sun lounger on the beach and sip a majito. There are no goals in life, no dreams, no suffering, no responsibility. Only pleasures and pleasures. What's the result? Humanity is simply disappearing from the face of the earth. Why continue the family line if you are already happy with everything? And children are some kind of responsibility.

Why am I saying this? Yes, this is all to say that life consists not so much of bright days, but of little glimpses of joy in the darkness of existence. My wings are a means to make this dark kingdom a little brighter, to soar above the bustle of everyday life and show others that if they try, they can create beautiful things. Good and evil are abstract concepts. There is no black and white, there are colorful human relationships. How we coexist determines our personal relationship to the world.

ABOUT STORIES AND IMAGES

I write from the heart, living every word. I tried to write on a given topic - it still turns out that the personal crawls out and looks out of the lines with wide open eyes. Here it is, me! Whether this is good or bad, I don’t know.

There are also lyrics about “buttercup flowers” - for those who simply decided to take a break from the cruelties of life, from its dirt, stench and stench. You shouldn’t blame them for their “lack of interest” in serious lines. How is Yuri Levitansky doing?

"Everyone chooses for themselves

A woman, religion, a road.

To serve the devil or the prophet

Everyone chooses for themselves.”

I think if you write only about yourself, in the end everyone will get tired of it very soon. The reader looks for himself in the lines: his joys, his sorrows, his features, his zest. And, since there are more than one billion people on the planet, you need to write in such a way as to touch every string of the soul. Therefore, the characters in my poems are different. Similar to me and not very similar. How else? What will happen if you don’t live life for each hero, passing him through yourself? Well, at most, a store sign or an advertisement in the newspaper “buy and sell.” And then, in a huge information flow, an ad must be emotional in order to be noticed. So it turns out that without worrying, writing something worth the reader’s attention is very difficult.

The images in the poems are also not taken from a vacuum. They pass me every day on the streets of the city, at home and at work, they catch me with their originality, make me stop and think. A midnight musician playing, a shaggy happy dog, a girl in the summer rain, a noisy airport - an integral part of life. We get lost in everyday life and do not notice the beauty that surrounds us.
