Acts of the Apostles, chapter 1 Blessed with pierced hands. “Wait for what was promised...” - that’s what he said. He went to the Father. Rising with the clouds To where you can’t even look. “Wait for what is promised...” - God’s word. Wait a day? Or a year? Or ten years? No one knew. The disciples of Christ prayed. We were waiting for an answer to come. Not ten years, but ten days. A little. What the Savior promised came true. And the Holy Spirit descended from heaven. From God. The Lord's flame lit up above the earth. And so it was. The heavenly fire was burning. And their hearts rejoiced with joy, Thanking for this wonderful gift and magnifying the Lord the Father. The disciples carried the Good News into a sinful world with great boldness. And thousands bowed to their knees. And thousands found salvation. The sick were healed by the power of God, and the demons fled away in fear. What was impossible happened, And the night receded before the light. Young and old came to Jesus, and the Holy Spirit transformed people. But do you hear? What a familiar voice: “Now - this will not happen! Nowhere. Everything is in the past. Not the apostolic time. What fire? What miracles?” - I know who drops this seed. Don't be afraid to look him in the eye. Don’t be afraid to tell the devil: “It’s not true!” The Lord Jesus cannot become “different.” The Holy Spirit gives us today the right to confess the Living Christ. We remember how God gave the Spirit of truth for many generations. For hundreds of years, in prophetic words, this blessed gift was predicted, God said that the Spirit of the Creator of the Universe would live in the hearts of flesh. He promised: “I myself will put the knowledge of eternal revelations into the hearts, I will write my laws in thoughts, and the spirit will reign over corruptible flesh. I will pour water on the thirsty, and pour out my streams on the dry, I will bless my sons and daughters, I will give from my Spirit to their descendants... "And the day came. The Son of God, nailed to the tree, became a good source - He died there so that you could become alive And glorify the Lord with your saved soul. For this, our Jesus suffered, for this he sent His Spirit to Earth. And the one who cried out to God in poverty accepts the Father’s Promise. ... It is a holiday today. He comes to us from year to year, noted in the Acts, But let this day come to life in our hearts, It will not just be a day of memories. Are the lamps burning in our hands, or are they barely glowing with the last of our strength? And does the morning dawn rise in our hearts or is the heart like a glacier? Where is the small idol - the carnal self - instead of Jesus reigning on the throne? Does my life, yours, belong entirely to Christ, or is it drowning in vanity? Jesus accomplished our salvation, He gave us life, and life in abundance, With unfading joy of the soul, So that we would not be called children - we would be! So that from our womb flow not meager drops, but rivers of grace, and people can see the Lord, and Jesus crucified is revealed to the world! ...Oh Holy Spirit! In this place now Touch hearts with the Divine breath Hear both a quiet sigh and a loud voice, Open your lips in a prayer of repentance. Cleanse, O God, our heart temple, Fill it with unearthly grace, Let the pure incense of Prayers ascend to You with ardent praise. Let every soul say to God: “Jesus, my Shepherd, I need You! I love You, I want to breathe You, I entrust my life into Your holy hands. I thirst, Lord, You alone can give Water to quench this thirst, And You will send grace upon grace, As on the day of Pentecost once. Take me, dominate and possess, And make Your abode in me. Let me fall in spirit to the living water again, I am Yours, my wonderful Lord, my Savior. Here I am, Christ, send me to work And fill me with the power of Your Spirit, So that my weak vessel becomes fit for good deeds, full of Your love...” God will send an answer to all prayers, And the Holy Spirit will accomplish a holy work - He will glorify Christ, His covenant , And let us speak about God boldly And call to Jesus with the power of love. Who can resist true love? Today many have come to our house... Let this house become cramped on weekdays. Let our city see Christ here, May it be amazed at His great deeds, Let the wonderful one. On this day there are no magnificent feasts, no big gifts to each other, unnecessary fuss and worries - but the communication of friends in spirit. The Holy Spirit is invisibly among us every day, even on gray days. He tirelessly accomplishes His difficult feat over us. But today the Children of God especially remember Him again And for the wonderful gift of heaven they glorify the Name of the Lord. Elena Epp From the book “Solemn Day” *** A GIFT FROM HEAVEN I look into the endless distances of the sky... There, having finished His thorny path, He went again to the Father, to the eternal abode, the Son of God and the unearthly Teacher. He left, leaving His last promise to His Twelve disciples, that He Himself would send the Comforter to them. In those anxious, farewell moments, How dear were His words, So that they did not go anywhere, But waited for the visit of the Father! When the day of Pentecost arrived and they all stayed together, what was predicted for them happened: the Spirit from God descended on them from heaven.
