Cottage cheese and semolina casserole in a slow cooker is a traditional oven dish, adapted for cooking in a kitchen unit. When baked correctly, a casserole from a multicooker turns out no less tasty and airy than in an oven.

Semolina casserole is a classic version of a dish that has been a popular kindergarten dessert for many decades. The good thing about semolina in a dish is that it allows you to absorb excess liquid from the cottage cheese without spoiling its consistency or taste. In addition to casseroles, is semolina used in making puddings and soufflés? dishes that are supposed to be tender and melt in your mouth.

6 secrets for making a fluffy casserole

  1. Replace flour with semolina. If the casserole recipe contains flour, you can safely replace it with the same amount of semolina - this will make it more tender and fluffy.
  2. Beat the whites with a pinch of salt. Carefully separated from the yolks, cold whites with salt whip faster and more stable. The mixing container must be dry.
  3. Add sugar to the whites after foam appears. This will allow the whites to whip better and become more airy.
  4. Do not open the lid until the mode ends. To avoid temperature changes that could cause the risen food to fall.
  5. Do not use liquid curd. If there is no other product, increase the amount of semolina in the recipe, bringing the curd mass to the consistency of thick sour cream.
  6. Let the semolina swell well. It is recommended to keep the cereal in the liquid for at least half an hour, but it is better to wait about 40 minutes for better absorption.

Cottage cheese with semolina

The good thing about the classic recipe for cottage cheese casserole with semolina in a slow cooker is that if these proportions of ingredients are observed, the dessert turns out airy and soft. This casserole is delicious without any additions, but it wouldn’t hurt to add fresh or dried fruit to the dish. To make the dish a pleasant yellow color (as in the photo), chefs recommend using country egg yolks or saffron infusion in the recipe.

You will need:

  • kefir - a glass;
  • semolina - half a glass;
  • sugar - half a glass;

If you open the unit earlier, the semolina casserole in the multicooker will settle. Otherwise, it will turn out tall and tender. In order for the whites to mix well, they must be cold—fresh from the refrigerator. If you want to brown the casserole until golden brown, turn the dish over using a plate before heating.

To prevent the raisins from clumping and being distributed evenly throughout the casserole, sprinkle them with flour before adding them to the dough.

Cottage cheese casserole in a slow cooker with semolina and sour cream turns out to be especially tender - just like in childhood, you can replace the raisins with candied fruits and pour jam on top. The “Baking” mode can be used not only for cottage cheese and flour products, but also for frying vegetables before stewing, as well as preparing chops and baked potatoes.

Cooking cottage cheese casserole in a slow cooker

  1. Using a mixer, or the old fashioned way - with a fork, beat the eggs and sugar, and also add vanilla sugar. After this, add butter and cottage cheese. Everything must be mixed thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous mass. While stirring, gradually add flour.
  2. There is one little secret. To make the casserole as airy as possible, you need to try to get rid of lumps in the cottage cheese. This is not so easy to do, and if you don’t succeed, you can add a little milk to make the curd mix easier.
  3. When you get a more or less homogeneous mass of all the ingredients, add the fruit last. Bananas, strawberries, tangerines, oranges, pineapples, and apples are best suited. Basically, you can choose any fruit you want, but avoid lemon, especially if you've added milk, as it may curdle.
  4. Add butter to the multicooker pan to prevent the future casserole from burning. Next, put the curd mass into the mold and set the “Baking” mode. The preparation time for this dish is 45 minutes. But then you should simmer the casserole in the “Warming” mode for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. When the casserole has cooled, place it on a dish, sprinkle with powdered sugar, decorate it with fruit, sour cream or jam, cut it, and serve.
